Peter Gabriel, U2, Coldplay, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Prince, Madonna, Depeche Mode, Jeff Buckley – more modern ones, The 1975, Troye Sivan, Bleachers, Maggie Rogers, Tove Lo
What was your first Concert?
I remember seeing drummers in the Philippines play in a circle – I always wanted to be a drummer…but my parents wouldn’t let me! (Later my brother became a drummer!) Some memorable life changing concerts were The Cure, U2, Daniel Lanois, New Order.
What moment made you want to pursue music as a career?
For as far back as I can remember I’ve written songs…on piano, then guitar, then I began finding my voice when my first punk band needed a singer! The first time I ever saw a frontman performing in front of a captivated audience, I knew I wanted to do that… shortly after, I remember standing in my middle school gym, with an electric guitar and a microphone, singing one of the first songs I wrote…blocked out how it went that day, but that fire has been there as long as I can remember 🙂
