When I was young, I thought all songs you heard on the radio were written by the artists. When I discovered this to be untrue, it opened my world. Wait, you can write a song for someone else to sing? You can write a song with multiple people? You can write a song that can be on a TV show, commercial, or film? Everything about the music industry from that realization excited me. Endless possibilities. I knew I wanted to pursue artistry, but had no idea being an artist could encompass so many things. I moved to Nashville in 2007 to make music my career, but it really wasn’t until living here a few years and being truly part of this community that solidified that dream for me.
